2nd Saturday at CSU Spur, presented by Canvas Credit Union, is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second Saturday of every month and is free and open to the public for family-friendly programming. Each event has a different theme, which can be found at the previous link.
Please consider the following when participating in 2nd Saturday: - Participants are asked to set up their table and activities in time for the start (10 a.m.) and stay for the entirety of the event (until 2 p.m.).
- Sports equipment giveaways (balls, etc.) are not allowed.
- If you are taking promotional photos of the event, please email csu_spur_education@colostate.edu to ensure proper permissions.
- All materials, literature, and giveaways must be family-friendly.
- Most attendees speak English, but the Spanish-speaking audience is growing. Bilingual staff and materials are highly encouraged.
- If your activity involves surveying visitors for research purposes, please ensure you are following all IRB (Institutional Review Board) requirements and include your CSU Protocol ID number and expiration date in the form below. If you have determined IRB oversight is not needed, there is space to indicate that below as well. For students: your faculty advisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with all institutional, state, or federal policies/rules/laws concerning research projects.
What CSU Spur will provide:- One (1) 6-foot table.
- Two (2) chairs.
- Access to electricity, if requested.
What you should bring:- Family-friendly, hands-on activities for at least 600 people.
- Copies of printed materials (Spur cannot make copies for you on-site).
- Branded tablecloth(s) or a sign with your organization or program name.
- Plastic tablecloths and tarps if your activity involves dry-erase markers, crayons, colored pencils, paints, or liquids.
- Extension cords (Spur cannot guarantee close proximity to outlets).
- Painter's tape if you plan to tape anything up near your table (ONLY painter's tape is allowed).
- Easels, if needed to display items.
What is not allowed / what you should leave at home:- Participants cannot sell any goods or ask for donations without specific permission from CSU Spur. You are allowed to have literature with information on how to support your organization or program.
- Participants cannot collect visitor information unless the visitor is over 18 years old and consents to give their information.
- Glitter (not allowed at CSU Spur).
- Non-dry-erase markers (only dry-erase markers are allowed at CSU Spur).
- Tables and chairs (Spur will provide one 6-foot table and two chairs).
